Dark Force Rising (1992) by Timothy Zahn is the second book in the Thrawn Trilogy.
This time around the fate of the Katana Fleet, a low crew fleet of dreadnoughts has been lost, possibly hidden under a cushion on the sofa.
A smuggler, Talon Karrde, known as ‘smuggles’ knows where they are. Luke, Han and the usual gang go off in search of them.
It isn’t a bad book, but reading two of these books in a row makes them seem pretty silly. Still, they are amusing reads. I’ll read another book before reading the last book in the trilogy.
The books are well put together, unlike much of the rest of the books in the extended universe. Zahn is good at putting in quotes from the original trilogy and reminders of it and setting up a few new characters.
