How To Stay Sane (2012) by Phillipa Perry is a cool, short guide to staying psychologically healthy. It’s impressively short and has very down to earth proscriptions.
There are four chapters, a conclusion and exercises. No seminars to attend or tables to be climbed. The chapters are self-observation, relating to others, stress and what’s the story. The self-observation chapter looks at mindfulness, relating to others personal relationships, stress on how we handle and can use stress and the story chapter covers how we build the narratives that describe ourselves.
It’s a fine self-help book. Compact, to the point and grounded. It is a very sane approach to the subject.
